Are you planning a holiday with children in Liptov and are you looking for a place where everyone will be happy - from babies to adults? Liptov offers so many attractions for families with children in one place that there are few places in Slovakia. And Demänová Resort in the heart of Demänovská Valley is an ideal base. Aqua FUN children's aquapark, FUN center with trampolines and a 3D maze, animations, fully equipped apartments with kitchens and suitable family cottages - all in one place. At the same time, Liptov is also ideal for a holiday with small children and babies. The resort has baby-friendly equipment, cots and potties on request, and in the Tatralandia aquapark you will find the Baby Silent Zone. There are many options for where to go with children in Liptov. A vacation without water (and ice cream) is not a vacation. That is why Liptov water and water areas are at the top of the list of top attractions, followed by adventure family parks and unique natural features.
You don't have to go far for water fun. We have a children's water park right at our resort. Aqua FUN! There is a large 20-meter swimming pool with an obstacle course and a small children's pool. Children will have a blast on two inflatable slides or in a large inflatable aquazorbing ball.
If you are looking for more pools, Tatralandia is the largest aquapark in Slovakia and a paradise for all children. You will find up to 14 pools, 28 slides and toboggans. Surfing on wild waves, various animations and year-round events are an attraction for older children and many adults. Younger children enjoy the children's part of the aquapark, the warm water in the tropical paradise and the pirate sailing ship.
Mom's tip: During your stay at Tatralandia, we recommend the dedicated Baby Silent Zone. There you will find a quiet environment for breastfeeding, a bottle warmer, a high chair, a changing area, baby cots and a small children's corner with toys. In addition to Tatralandia and our resort, you will also find other popular water worlds in Liptov, such as the Bešeňová Water Park or the spa Aqua-Vital Park in Lúčky.
Going to Liptov and not seeing the "Liptovské more", as the Liptovská Mara reservoir is called, would be a sin. And especially if you have children. Liptovská Mara, and more precisely Mara Camping in Liptovský Trnovec, combines several attractions for children - swimming at the beach swimming pool, adrenaline water sports, boating, fun in the Kids Zone and a sightseeing cruise on a boat.
Mara Camping is the only campsite on the banks of Liptovská Mara. In addition to experience accommodation in wooden cabins, houses, in your own tents or caravans, offers a lot of fun and attractions. Mara Fun offers a safe beach swimming area, motorboats, jet skis, kayaks, stand-up paddling, flyboard and the popular inflatable banana. Smaller children will jump with joy in the Kids Zone with Aqua Zorbing and animal boats.
Mom's tip: We highly appreciate that the sightseeing boat also takes into account mothers with strollers. During the hour-long cruise, children will learn about the history of the construction of Liptovská Mara and the entire Liptov region through an audio guide.
Guys and boys love adrenaline. That's what bobsleigh track in Pavčina Lehota you will find blessed. The track with a total elevation of 120 m is the steepest bobsleigh track in Slovakia. The track has 16 turns, 6 terrain jumps and 2 ramps. The bobsleigh track is safe and children from 7 years old can enjoy the ride on their own. It is only 5 minutes by car from Demänová Resort.
Movement, fun, and being in the fresh air are what children enjoy and what, to the joy of their parents, can also tire them out. FUNCENTER along with kids zone in Demänová Resort is a children's dream come true area. Younger children can have fun on slides, swings and mini houses. Jumping areas with bungee trampoline and bouncy castle will delight both younger and older children. It includes a spectacular 3D maze, climbing wall, Bike Park and indoor party tent, where the fun continues with air hockey, table football, punching bag and basketball machine.
Mom's tip: Parents can enjoy coffee by the lake with a view of the Low Tatras while children play safely in the enclosed area.
The contact zoo at Tatralandia is significantly different from the classic one - you can feed the animals and take pictures up close. In addition to the animals, the park offers an octopus carousel, boats, a huge sandbox and for older children an adrenaline water slide. For quieter fun, there is an 18-hole minigolf course and a tour of the World of Miniatures with miniature buildings of the world (the Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa). You can also combine the whole experience with a theater performance or an open-air concert, which are regularly held in the area.
In the Mincovníčkovo land, children will learn about coiners, blacksmiths and metallurgists in an underground workshop where the story of metal comes to life. Nearby, in the Jánská Valley, there is Stanišovská Cave. Children discover it with headlamps on their heads, accompanied by passionate cavers, which creates a unique mysterious atmosphere.
Mom's tip: Pack a warm sweatshirt and sturdy shoes for your children to wear to the cave, even in the middle of summer - the temperature underground is around 6-8 °C year-round.
The Upside Down House at Tatralandia is a great short stop, especially when the weather is not conducive to outdoor activities. All the furniture and equipment of the house are mounted above your heads. Children will be delighted with the crazy photos in which it looks like they are walking on the ceiling. In addition, fairy-tale characters are built into the entire building.
Fairytale wooden mills hidden deep in Kvačianska Valley are among the most beautiful places in Liptov. The walk to them leads along an easy forest path. At the finish line, children will see a living monument reserve, where volunteers maintain the mills in their original operation. Children can see a water wheel in action, pet domestic animals and taste homemade cake.
The Bear's Mine is the only accessible old mine in Liptov. The tour lasts approximately 30 minutes and children walk through mysterious underground passages illuminated only by a torch or headlamp. The guides playfully explain how difficult the life of the old miners was.
Monaco Grand Prix is the only 2-story indoor track in Slovakia. The race is on Subaru karts and there are special children's karts for children from 140 cm. The circuit is 450 m long with an elevation of 2,3 m and an electronic timer. An ideal place for older boys and for rainy days.
